年によって違う微妙な香りの差を
嗅ぎ分ける習慣がついている。

今年の香りの第一印象としては
「エネルギッシュ！」な感覚。

昨年屋久島は
大きな台風がひとつも直撃しなかったのだけれど
何か関係があるのかなあ・・と
思いを馳せてみたりしている。

[2026 Ponkan Essential Oil — Distillation Begins]

As the new year begins, so does ponkan essential oil distillation.
I’ve followed this rhythm for more than a decade.

During peel preparation and distillation,
I’ve learned to sense the subtle differences in aroma each year.

My first impression of this year’s scent:
energetic.

Yakushima wasn’t hit by a single major typhoon last year.
I can’t help but wonder if that has something to do with it.
